Salvage vintage books in this hands-on workshop to make your own one-of-a-kind junk journal. To bring new life to these pre-loved beauties, we’ll use a mix of materials including cardstock, vintage papers, envelopes, magazines, washi tape, stickers, and more! All materials included.

Bookbinding Workshop
Join us and Guest Artist Leon (of @the_pagemasters) for an intro bookbinding project. Learn the basics of bookbinding that you can do with everyday objects without buying any fancy materials or tools!

Embroidered Felt Leaves Workshop
Jump headfirst into fall by embroidering a bunch of felt leaves! Use them to decorate tables, gifts, or to throw them in the air and spin around with glee, because it’s fall! In our adorable endeavor, we will be learning basic of embroidery or if you’re a hand sewing diva, there are fun ways to make your leaves more advanced. Grab your coziest sweater that it’s definitely too warm for, and craft with us!

Fabric Collage Workshop
Turning trash into beautiful artwork is the name of the game here at Upcycle Arts. In this workshop we will be using fabric scraps to create playful collages. Perfect for displaying in frames, fabric collage is just as fun as paper collage, but with added depth and texture! No sewing required for this one!

Travel Junk Journal
In this workshop, we will memorialize our summer travels in your junk journal. Learn how to turn that train ticket you’ve been saving into beautiful creations using other papercraft supplies. Whether you are a beginner or experienced crafter, this workshop will inspire you to remember your travels in the most creative way. Feel free to bring your own junk journals, travel mementos, and print some pictures from your trip!

Teachers Only Craft & Movie Night
Upcycle Arts & Visart Video are joining up to say THANK YOU to teachers for all that you do! We are putting on a Teachers ONLY Craft & Movie Night! This event is FREE for teachers, as is the popcorn. We will be showing School of Rock while you craft.
Bring out your inner rock star while you Junk Journal and play with some unique mediums. We’ll have vintage books (donated from our friends at Book Buyers) for you to play with, and lots of other things! All materials will be provided (unless you have your own junk journal you’d like to bring, of course). Please register ahead of time, as we have limited spots!

Floral Acrylic Painting Workshop
Join us to learn the basics of painting with acrylics and making your own floral masterpiece! Within a few steps you will be able to recreate whimsical florals using acrylic paint. Low stress and fun colors is our goal for this class. All skill sets are welcome and yes it’s beginner friendly!!

Make-a-Mends Clothing Repair
Give your clothes another chance for free! Drop in between 4pm - 6pm with 1-3 items of clothing that are ripped, torn, or have missing or loose buttons. We will not be doing zipper repairs. Use our mending supplies to fix them yourself and get mending advice from our team. Let us help you find the motivation to finally revive that favorite garment that just needs a little love!

Shell Frame Workshop
This seashell collage is simple, open-ended and combines nature elements. Collage is one of my absolute favourite art invitations to use with children of all ages. If you want to know what to do with all those seashells you collect at this beach, this is the perfect project for you!

Intro to Machine Sewing Part 2: Pillow Making
Join Seed Sewer’s as we explore the wonderful world of sewing! In this class you will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine, get more familiar with various sewing tools, learn pinning, basic hemming and more! The goal of this class is to raise your confidence and to get you more comfortable with using a sewing machine. This class is targeted to those who've always wanted to learn how to sew but were never provided the opportunity to learn, those who have a sewing machine at home but have no idea how to use it and those who have learned how to sew in the past but would like to refresh their skills. The sewing instructor will provide sewing machines, fabric and materials however if you have your own machines and fabric, please bring them.

Turn spare buttons into wearable works of art! In this workshop we will be incorporating buttons into DIY earrings and necklaces. Come hang out and create your new favorite crafty accessory!

Graphic Paper Portrait Workshop
Make the coolest portrait ever! Bring the picture you’d like to recreate and grab some fun papers. We’ll help you find the shapes and collage techniques to make your very own paper portrait!

Embroidered Tote Bag Workshop
We will teach you how to zhuzh up your tote bag with some basic embroidery skills! No previous embroidery experience required. Add your name, punny saying, or basic line designs to your tote so everyone knows you got your bag! Tote bags are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own from home or even your handmade tote if you sign up for our Sew Your Own Tote Bag Workshop.

Junk Journal Workshop
A junk journal in its simplest form is a handmade journal created using an eclectic mixture of various papers and ephemera. It is the perfect place to write your thoughts, tuck your photos or fill with whatever makes you smile! This workshop is $10, all supplies included.

Eastway Crossing Collab Camp
Join us the week leading up to July 4th at Eastway Crossing Shopping Center for our very first collaborative Summer Camp amongst local small businesses.
This camp is intended for rising 1st-4th graders and will focus on the true meaning of the Statue of Liberty and what she stands for. Campers will spend the week story boarding, choreographing, crafting, and then performing their own show to demonstrate what they've learned.
Lunch is included from The VisArt Cafe. Please let us know if any allergy restrictions ahead of time.

Hand Sewing 101
No sewing machine? No problem! In this class you will learn the three basic stitches that make up the building blocks of hand sewing. Unlock the skills you need to mend and create anything, anywhere with only a needle and thread!
This workshop is for ages 14 and up.

Candle Affirmation Dressing Workshop
Use melted candle wax and brushes to paint affirmations and symbols onto candles. You’ll even dress them up with herbs and oils. All candles are thrifted!
