Photo Embroidery Basics
Sorry camera roll, physical photographs are far superior. Make them even MORE superior by embroidering directly onto them! With embroidery, you can add personality, funny graphics, emphasize a beautiful landscape or even hide an ugly one. In this workshop, bring your own photograph to plan a pattern and learn the basics of embroidering on your precious memories! Don't worry, we will have photo paper and donated photos to practice on before you start working on your masterpiece.

DIY Slime
Schools out and it’s time to get messy! We will be using lots of glitter, glue, and other good stuff to create our very own personalized slime. This workshop is perfect for kids and adults of all ages who want to stop watching slime compilation videos on YouTube and start making some with their own hands!

Crochet 101
Join Ashley Jane for a beginner crochet class. You will learn the very basics: how to make a slip knot, make a chain, and make stitches. You will also learn how to read a basic pattern!
This class will focus on teaching techniques. We will not be completing a project during class time, but you will leave with all the skills you need to complete one at home!
This workshop will be taught by AJ, the Executive Director of We Craft CLT. AJ has been crocheting for over 20 years and began her journey with small designs and pattern testing around 2019.

Knitting 101: Mug Rugs
Knitting classes have been highly requested, so we’re so excited to welcome guest artist Donna Kretschmer to teach this class! You will learn the basics of knitting- how to cast on, make stitches, and bind off. By the end you will have completed your very first project: a cozy rug to go under your mug!

Jungle Story Summer Camp
Unleash the Wild Within at "Jungle Story" Summer Camp!
This summer, your child won't just go to camp—they'll create it! Welcome to "Jungle Story," an immersive theater production camp where young explorers will craft an original jungle tale from the ground up by collaborating with three amazing creative spaces in our Eastway Crossing Shopping Center!
The Adventure Unfolds Across Three Shops:
VisArt (The Story & Stage): Campers become playwrights and actors! They'll learn theater fundamentals, develop characters, and rehearse their original "Jungle Story" script.
Upcycle Arts (The Build & Design): The magic comes to life here! Using creative reuse materials, kids will build wild props, design costume pieces, and craft the scenery for their show.
Open Door Studios (The Rhythm & Movement): The jungle pulses with energy! Campers will learn vibrant dance choreography and the powerful beats of drumming to give their story a heartbeat.
Finale: The week culminates in a Jungle Jamboree Showcase where campers perform their play with the props, costumes, and rhythms they created!
Full-day: 9am-4pm ($400)
Flex hours: 8am-9am + 4pm-5pm ($50 weekly or $15 a day as needed)

Beaded Crystal Suncatchers
Celebrate the solstice and the summer sun with a beaded suncatcher. Use vintage crystals and shiny trinkets along with many bead choices. Learn about beads and bead stringing, and a tiny bit about macramé. Finished piece will be 16-18" long and ready to hang in your window to catch the sun!

Intro to Beaded Embroidery
Come join us for a creative and mindful workshop on the basics of beaded embroidery! You’ll learn essential stitching techniques for embellishing your embroidery with beads to create unique textured art or wearable designs. No embroidery experience required (although it definitely doesn’t hurt!). We’ll have everything you need to get started on a simple motif of your choice.
Silly Still Life
This class is an exercise on understanding form and composition while also letting loose with medium of choice (paint, pencils, pastels, etc.) and a playful still life composition to reference. Students will learn how to draw and/or paint using 3d objects as the subject. This class is beginner friendly, but also a fun exercise for more experienced artists.
Damalis Caraballo is an artist and illustrator with a degree in Fine Art from App State University. She specializes in creating whimsical illustrations in a variety of mediums. Momigami: The Japanese Art of Kneaded Paper
Momigami is a traditional Japanese craft that transforms basic paper into a unique, soft-yet-durable, textured medium. Learn how to turn magazine pages and other paper goods into a fabric-like material to use in your art creations from papercrafts and collage to journals to pouches. Upcycling meets mindfulness and refinement in this grounding craft.

Button Upcycling Workshop
Did you know you can sew buttons pretty much anywhere on pretty much anything? Take advantage of our bountiful button collection and decorate your clothes with all shapes and sizes of buttons. If you don’t have anything at home you wish to upcycle, that’s okay! We’ll have some options here for you to embellish, so you can still join in on the fun!
Beginner Book Binding
Bookbinding is an old and varied art, often involving complicated stitches and expensive materials. This workshop will teach the basics of making a pamphlet-style book with found materials and zero fancy tools! We will demystify stitching, learn basic concepts of good book construction, and end with a finished product you can use right away.

Make Your Nest: A Creative Journey in Yarn and Clay
This hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the power of creativity through using yarn, cardboard/poster board, and air-dry clay. Participants will create woven baskets that become unique birds’ nests, symbolizing the personal and collective process of growth, release, and nurturing.
At the end of the workshop, each participant will take home a one-of-a-kind handmade nest, a tangible reminder of the collaborative creative experience and their personal intentions.

Sewing 101: Beginner Bunting
Something about bunting just screams spring décor, doesn’t it? Join Sarah to learn the basics of machine sewing while creating an adorable pennant banner of your own. This easy project is perfect for anyone just starting their sewing journey, or looking to get back into it.
All supplies included! Sewing machines will be provided, but feel free to bring your own as long as it is in working condition. Travel Junk Journal
Learn fun ways to document your spring break or summer vacations with this Travel Junk Journal workshop. Take junk, scraps, and miscellaneous embellishments and turn them into a precious memento, or a visual map of your dream vacation. All materials will be included, but feel free to bring with you any sentimental scraps from your own adventures.
Fabric Collage
Turning trash into beautiful artwork is the name of the game here at Upcycle Arts. In this workshop we will be using fabric scraps to create playful collages. Perfect for displaying in frames, fabric collage is just as fun as paper collage, but with added depth and texture! No sewing required for this one!

Snail Mail Social Club
Best described as a “Round Robin letter writing party”, SMSC is your speedy way of making a penpal! Participants select an envelope, which contains their number and selected prompts for them to respond to; their responses are then assigned to a number, so everyone should get approx. 6 letters back! The letters are brief, but the fun won’t be!

Learn the best way to make basic bows! Whether it's a hair accessory, garland, jewelry, or general flourish, nothing is better than wrapping it in a bow. We will learn to make a basic bow of all sizes with a variety of different materials. All levels welcome, but we will be using hot glue guns.
